Shows in 2016

This was going to be a nice "Japanese" weekend, organized by breed club NVAI, because of her 25th anniversary, on May 21 and 22. The location was the Hanzehal in Zutphen. On Saturday, there was the 12th Japanese All Breeds Show and 26 Shibas were entered under judge, Mrs. Angelika Kammerscheid. It felt a bit strange to have your breed judged by a not Japanese on a "Japan Kennel Club-Show", which was the name of this show in previous years. Both Ch. Jaklho Keep A Dream In Your Pocket "Keeper" and Ch. Ch. Jaklho I'll Never Find Another You "Kizzy" got the 1st place in champion class.
Unfortunately, because of some physical discomfort, I could not be present at the NVAI's championship club show, the next day. But, later that day the most fantastic news reached me. Mr. Satoshi Bessho, also Shiba judge at the last World Dog Show in Milan, judged the 34 entered Shibas. The great news was that Jaklho Walk With Me "Kitai", owned by Maryline and Frederick from Belgium ("From Hillock Snowy" Shibas), was awarded best male and on top of this Best Of Breed. And just like his (half-)brother Keeper, he won the title of Club-Winner 2016. A fantastic result of which I am very proud of.

On April 16, together with Ch. Jaklho I'll Never Find Another You "Kizzy", I set out to her first dog show abroad. And she didn't miss the first shot. Belgian judge Mr. Piet Roosenboom judged the Shibas at Antwerp "Brabo-Show". He choose Kizzy as best female and with this win she got her first foreign CACIB. Of course the CAC was awarded to her as well.
Congratulations to Ina Niesenbaum, who got BOB with her beautiful male, Ch. Kyoshi Irish Mist, who happens to be a great granson of Sumo.

One week later, the two of us set off again and this time we went to Lingen, Germany. It's about 15 years ago when Kizzy's granddad, Sumo, won here CAC-CACIB and BOB. Now, on April 23, in a freezing cold, Mrs. Barbara Yvon Bruns judged the Shibas. And just like last week, again Ch. Jaklho I'll Never Find Another You Kizzy won CAC-CACIB, this being a third country CACIB. In order to be eligible for the title of FCI International Champion a dog must have earned 4 CACIB's, in at least 3 different countries, under at least 3 different judges. Between the first and last CACIB, a minimum period of one year and one day must have elapsed.

Sometimes weeks, or even months. elapse without visiting any show. Now, in three weeks, there are three shows in a row. On May 1, one of the two breed clubs, Nippon Inu, organized her annual championship club show. There were 69 Japanese dogs entered, of which were 28 Shibas. The other breeds were: American Akita, Akita, Shikoku and Kishu. Mrs. Ineke Zwaartman-Pinster was invited to judge the Shibas. This day turned out to be a "super" day! Ch. Jaklho Keep A Dream In Your Pocket "Keeper" and Ch. Jaklho I'll Never Find Another You "Kizzy" were entered and both did a most fantastic job. Keeper won best male and Best Of Breed and Kizzy won best female and Best of Opposite Sex. Best In Show judging was done by Mrs. Elly Weijenborg-Weggemans and Keeper was chosen as res. Best In Show, after the magnificent American Akita, Dynamic Force Platinum Edition With Ruthdales, owned by Marcel and Lene Huls & Armstrong.
Keeper's win brought him a new title: Club-Winner 2016 and also he qualified for Dog of the Year-Show 2016.
